4. Visually and physically inspect the chamber to ensure that it is empty.

5. Place the selector switch on SAFE. Press the upper portion of the bolt
catch to allow the bolt assembly to close. (Figure 13). Repeat steps 3-5 to
ensure rifle is unloaded and cleared.
