Opening Files on the SD Memory Card

To copy ﬁles from the microSD Memory Card to your NOOK, do this:

1. Make sure that the microSD Memory Card is installed in your NOOK. If it’s installed, you’ll see a large button

that says Memory Card at the top of the Library when you tap the My Files icon.

2. In the Library, tap the My Files icon in the Media Bar to displays a list of ﬁles.

Your NOOK displays a hierarchical list of ﬁles on your microSD Memory Card.

3. To open a ﬁle, press and hold on the name of the ﬁle.

A pop-up menu appears.

4. Tap Open.

NOTE: You can use the steps above to access any ﬁles on the SD Memory Card. To transfer ﬁles from an SD

Memory Card to internal memory of your NOOK, connect your NOOK to your personal computer,

following the directions below. Transfer the ﬁles from the SD Memory Card to your personal computer,

and then from your personal computer to the My Files folder on your NOOK.

Transferring Files from Your Personal Computer to Your NOOK

You can transfer ﬁles, including EPUB ﬁles, PDFs, and photos, from your personal computer to your NOOK.

To transfer ﬁles, do this:

1. Using the custom microUSB cable provided with your NOOK, connect your NOOK to your personal computer.

NOTE: Use only the microUSB cable provided with your NOOK. Using any other cable might damage your

NOOK.

2. When you connect your NOOK to your personal computer, your NOOK will appear as a new disk drive called

“NOOK” on your personal computer. Drag the ﬁles you want to transfer onto the “NOOK” drive.

NOTE: If you connect your NOOK to a Windows PC, the PC might display a dialog box asking if you want to

install a driver for a “Nook.” Click Cancel to close this dialog box. You do not need to install a special

driver to transfer ﬁles to your NOOK.

3. To organize the ﬁles, open the media drive. You’ll see several folders on your NOOK. Move your personal ﬁles in

the My Files folder.

4. When you have ﬁnished arranging ﬁles, eject the “NOOK” drive from your personal computer to unmount the

NOOK ﬁle system.

5. Disconnect the microUSB cable.

After you transfer documents to your NOOK, keep back-up copies on your personal computer.
