nook User Guide Wireless Connectivity 61
To manually add and connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot:
To manually add a Wi-Fi hotspot, you must be within range of the hotspot. Your NOOK
connects to the hotspot when you add it. If it fails to connect, it does not add the hotspot.
You will need the following information:
• Network SSID (Service Set Identifier, that is, the network name for the hotspot)
• Security (Auto, None, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
• Password: A code needed when connecting to a secured hotspot
Tap wi-fi > Wi-Fi hotspot > Other hotspot.... In the data-entry form, type the SSID, select the
security, and then tap Submit. If a password is needed, your
NOOK prompts for it. Enter the
password and then tap Submit.
To disconnect from and forget a Wi-Fi hotspot:
Tap wi-fi > Wi-Fi hotspot. Tap the hotspot, and then tap Forget. This does two things. It
disconnects your
NOOK from the hotspot, and it removes it from the list of networks to which
your
NOOK connects automatically.
