3 INSTALLATION
Please read this chapter carefully before installing the option.
The installation procedure is only necessary when ordering this option sepa-
rately. When ordering a P
ULSAR with Separate IF Outputs, the installation has
already been carried out during production.
For location of the boards, connectors and jumpers use the different layouts in chapter 4 : layouts.
Before changing anything in the P
ULSAR, remove the power cord to switch off
the power supply.
3.1 Opening The PULSAR
Before changing or removing anything in the PULSAR, remove the power
to switch of the power supply.
Unplug the power cord to turn off the P
ULSAR.
Unscrew the nine screws (Torx 10) holding the top cover.
Pull the top cover backwards and remove it.
Loosen the nine screws (Torx 10) holding the bottom cover.
Remove the bottom cover.
3.2 Installing The Separate IF Outputs Board
Installing this option has as a consequence that the option 4.5 MHz Aural
Subcarrier or the Nicam Intercarrier is only possible in a single sound carrier
version or in a dual sound carrier version delivered as a mono device.
The option Composite IF Aux input is not possible any more.
For the right location of the boards, connectors and screws see the internal layout diagram.
Install the Separate IF output board.
Fix the board with the 4 screws on the chassis profiles.
Install the power supply interconnection board.
Fix the board with the screws on the chassis profiles.
Bridges to be set on the mainboard.
