3.1 Opening The PULSAR
•
Unplug the power cord to turn off the P
ULSAR.
•
Unscrew the nine screws (Torx 10) holding the top cover.
•
Pull the top cover backwards and remove it.
•
Loosen the nine screws (Torx 10) holding the bottom cover.
•
Remove the bottom cover.
3.2 Installing The Composite IF Aux Input Board
Observe Precaution for Handling Electrostatic Sensitive Devices.
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) can damage the electronic components.
Therefore it is required to work in a static-save work station.
•
Install the optional board. See the internal layout for the correct location.
•
Fix the board with the 4 screws on the chassis profiles.
•
Cable connections to be made:

3.3 Updating Software Version
Updating the software is only necessary if the index of the software installed is of a lower version than
the newly delivered. The index of the software is indicated on the label stuck on the EPROM or GAL.
On the label you can find “/ XX”. This number indicates the software version.

For the location of the IC’s, use the Internal layout diagram.

Replace EPROM U65 with the one included in the kitbox. (only neccessary when the index of the
EPROM in the kitbox is higher than the one that is installed).
•
Replace GAL U69 with the one include in the kitbox. (only necessary when a GAL is included in
the kitbox and the index of the GAL in the kitbox is higher than the one that is installed).
