3 ALIGNMENT
•
Select FACTORY RECALL in the
CONFIG menu, press the DOWN arrow and ENTER.
•
P15 (on the mainboard) has been aligned for Mono, thus needs to be realigned.
•
For the alignment:
- Connect any kind of video (1 Vpp) to the input.
- In the menu
MODE, scroll to the item STEREO CODER and select DUAL SOUND.
- In the
AUDIO menu two bars are visible now.
- After manipulating P15 one must obtain following display (DEV 1 ----------------------030 kHz):
Normally you should expect 30 kHz for the deviation of the second sound carrier but you find 34 kHz
deviation because the deviation of the pilot is included. The value of the stereo crosstalk is conform
to the specifications but can be optimized. By use of a measurement grade stereo demodulator one
can measure crosstalk. Manipulation of P4 (on the mainboard) optimizes the stereo crosstalk. Be
aware of the high sensitivity of P4. Therefore, we suggest that only authorized technicians do this
setting. If no video is connected, the P
ULSAR will switch back to MONO configuration on both audio
channels, indicating the following warning:!! PILOT FAIL, CHECK VIDEO !!
