3. Feed the screw head through the center hole in the handle pin (Figure 3). Using a screwdriver,

pin.
5. Tap out the pump retainer pin (Figure 1).
Note: It’s a good idea to remove any air bubbles that might have accumulated in the hydraulic system
during shipping. Refer to ''Bleeding the Air'' in the maintenance table.
Assembling the Braking Device
1. After installing the handle, press Lock 1 to loosen it and put Handle Knob 2 in its lowest position
(Figure 4, following page).
2. Unscrew Screw 6, put Braking Wire 3 through holes in Shafts 4 and 5 and tense it in the indicated
direction. Put back screw 6 and complete the installation by tightening it.
3. Brake sensitivity can be adjusted with Hollow Screw 7. For large free strokes of the braking
handle knob, or if poor braking is experienced, slowly turn Hollow Screw 7 counter-clockwise
(adjust Screw 7 in a downward direction). Or, if the free stroke of the braking is too small or too
much force is felt with an unloaded pallet jack, Hollow Screw 7 should be turned slowly in a
clockwise direction (adjust Screw 7 in upward direction). Loosen Nut 8 before these adjustments
and tighten again when the adjustment is over.
