5.4.3 Serial Options
TheSerialOptionsboxprovidestwooptions:Suppress Clear DataandSuppress
Header.
Suppress Clear Dataprovidesonemethodtoreducetheamountofdatabeing
transmittedbythecontrolmodule,accomplishedbynotsendingdatawhennoobject
isdetected.Thecontrolmoduletransmitsserialdataonlywhenoneormore
unblankedbeamsofthelightscreenarrayareblocked.Whenthearraygoesfrom
blockedtoclear,dataissentoneadditionaltime,indicatingtheclearcondition.
Suppress Headerisusedtopreventtransmissionofthethree-byteidentification
string(“headerstring”)associatedwitheitherASCIIorBinarydataformats.The
headerstringconsistsoftwobytesatthestartofthedata,andaterminationbyteto
marktheendoftheserialtransmission.SeeAppendixAformoreinformationon
serialdataformats.
5.5 Transfer of PSF to the Control Module
AftermakingalloftheselectionsinthePSFConfigurationscreen,thePSFmaybe
senttothecontrolmodulebyclickingtheSend PSFbutton(seeFigure5-26).This
commandloadsthePSFintothenon-volatilememoryofthecontrolmodule,and
automaticallyoverwritesthecurrentPSF.TheprogramwillconfirmthatthePSFwas
accepted,orwillnotifytheuserofchangesrequiredtothePSF.
TocheckthevaluesofthePSFcurrentlyloadedintothecontrolmodule,selectUpload
PSF.ThecurrentPSFwillbedisplayedonthePSFConfigurationscreen.
