NOTE: ThisATVusesresistor-typesparkplugtoavoidjammingelectronic
parts. Impropersparkplugselectionmaycauseelectronicinterferencewith
yourATVsignitionsystem,resultinginthevehicleperformanceproblems.Use
recommendedsparkplugs.
Toinstalla sparkplugturnitinasfar as possiblewithyourfingers, thentightenit
witha wrench.

ImproperinstallationofthesparkplugcoulddamageyourATV.
An overlytightor crossthreadedsparkplugwilldamagethealuminumthreads
ofthecylinderhead.
Carefullyturnthe sparkplugbyhandintothethreads. If thesparkplugisnew,
tighten it with a wrench about1/2turn pastfinger tight. If youare reusingthe olc
sparkplug,tightenitwitha wrenchabout1/8turnpastfinger tight.

Tomaintainaproperfunctioning sparkplug,keep the plugfree ofcarbon.
Removecarbonfrom the plugwitha wireor pin,andadjustthe gapto 0.24- 0.28
inch(0.6~0.7ram)for goodignition. Usea thicknessgaugeto checkthegap.
VALVEINSPECTION
Referto maintenancescheduleinthisowner'smanualfor valveadjustment
inspectionintervals.
Valveclearanceshouldbe:
Intake: 0.002inch(0.05ram)
Exhaust: 0.003inch(0.0762mm)
Theenginewillmakeexcessnoiseifthegapistoolargeinairvalve. If gapis too
smallvalveoperationwillbehinderedwhichcouldresultinvalvemalfunctionand
failure. Therefore,airvalvegapmustbecheckedperiodically.
Ifyou havehavethepropertoolsandaremechanicallyproficient,instructionson
