IgnitionSystemCheck

1. Removethesparkplugandreattachitto thesparkpluglead.

Turnignitionkeyto the"RUN" position. Slidethe enginestopswitch

tothe"Run" position.Pushtheelectricbutton"START"(grey button).

Applytherearbrakelevertomakesuretherearwheelsarelocked.If the

ignitionsystemisoperatingproperly,a bluesparkshouldjumpacross

thesparkpluggap. If thereisnospark,takeyourmachinetoyour

servicecenter.

Performingthesparktestimproperlycouldbehazardous.

Youcouldgeta highvoltageelectricalshockifyouarenotfamiliarwith

thisprocedure.

Donotperformthis checkif youare notfamiliar withthe procedure.

Donotpointthe sparkplugnearthe sparkplugholeduringthistest.

Donotdothistestifyouhavea heartconditionor weara pacemaker.

Donotperformthistestnearanyopenfuel containersor fuel which

hasspilledon the ground,ontheengine,or anypartoftheATV.

COMPLAINT:Enginestalls

1. Makesurethereis enoughfuel inthefuel tank.

2. Checktoseethatthe sparkplugisnotfouled. Removethe sparkplug

andcleanit. Replaceit,if necessary.

3. Makesurethe fuel valveisnotclogged,andthe fuel tankisnotclogged,

either.

4. Checktheidlespeed. If necessary,adjustit usinga tachometer.The

correctidlespeedis1400-1600r/rain.
