TROUBLESHOOTING

Thistroubleshootingguideisprovidedtohelpyouto findthe causeof some

commoncomplaints.

COMPLAINT:Engineishardto startordoesnotstartatall. Somethingis

probablywrongwiththefuelsystemor ignitionsystem.

Failingtotroubleshoota problemcorrectlywould damageyourATV.

Improper repairsor adjustmentsmaydamagethevehicle. Such

damagemaynotbecoveredunderwarranty.If youare notsureabout

theproperaction,consultyourauthorizedservicecenteror Baja

Motorsportsabouttheproblem.

FuelSupplyingCheck

1. Makesurethereis adequatefuel inthe fuel tank.

2. Checkthattheenginestopswitchisinthe "RUN "position.

3. Checkthatthefuel valveisinthe"ON" position.

4. Makesurethereis enoughfuel reachingthe carburetorfrom thefuel tank.

Drainingfuel from the carburetorcouldbe hazardous.

Fuelcouldcatchfire if youdonot handleit properly.

Whendrainingthe carburetor,besuretoshuttheengineoff. Donot

smokeandmakesurethereare noopenflames or sparksin thearea

whereyoudrainor refuel. Donotspillthe fuel oryou maycreateafire

hazard. Disposeof drainedfuel properly.

a. Loosenthedrainscrewwhichislocatedunderthecarburetor.Drainthe

fuel from thecarburetorintoa container.

b. Tightenthedrainscrew.

c. Runthe enginefor afew seconds.Shutoffengine.

d. Loosenthe drainscrewandcheckthatthecarburetorisfilled backup

withfuel.

e. Iffuel isreachingthecarburetor,theignitionsystemshouldbe checked

next.
