January 2009 Badger® READCENTER® Installation Data Overview This document provides details on setting up a READCENTER server and client on a network. The READCENTER server is responsible for storing data used for the meter reading process. The READCENTER client(s) on the same network will be able to access this information to perform tasks related to the meter reading process as well. A system diagram showing the server and the clients is illustrated on the following page.

Badger® READCENTER® Installation Data January 2009 1 READCENTER - Server Configuration in Windows® XP First, install READCENTER on the server computer and apply the pre-defined interface setup. The READCENTER Installation and Operation Manual, provides additional information. Next, follow the steps shown below to setup the server. 1.1 Open SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration (Start/All Programs/Microsoft SQL Server 2005/Configuration Tools/).

Badger® READCENTER® Installation Data January 2009 2 READCENTER - Client Setup in Windows XP This section describes how to setup a READCENTER client to connect to the READCENTER server. First, install READCENTER on the client computer. The READCENTER Installation and Operation Manual provides additional information. Next, you will need the SQL Server instance name of the READCENTER server computer to setup the client. 2.1 Start READCENTER on the client computer. Click on the white flowing B image. 2.
