ORION® Integral Endpoint for Sensus® Commercial Gas Meters PRODUCT UNPACKING AND INSPECTION NOTE: If damage to the shipping container is evident upon receipt, request the carrier to be present when the product is unpacked. Carefully open the shipping package, follow any instructions that may be marked on the exterior. Remove all cushioning material surrounding the product and carefully lift the product from the package. Retain the package and all packing material for possible use in reshipment or storage.

ORION® Integral Endpoint for Sensus® Commercial Gas Meters Index and Index Cover Removal from Sensus Meter 1. Remove two security seals from the rear of the index cover. Use a large screwdriver to puncture and remove the tamper plugs if they are present. 2. Use a large screwdriver to remove the two (2) 5/16-18 X 1" index cover screws. Set cover aside for reuse. Discard the two (2) screws. 3. Remove the Sensus index and mounting plate. Set aside for reuse. Discard the two (2) 5/16-18 X 1/2" screws.
Installation Data Adding Additional Labels If the utility chooses to add an additional label, follow steps A, B and C below. If not, go to Install on the next page. Add a Serial Number Label A. With a needle nose pliers pull the plastic cover plate down and off. B. Place a new serial number tag above the one that is on the endpoint. C. Place the cover plate back on the endpoint.

Installation Data 2. When mounting an ORION integral endpoint to a gas meter make sure the endpoint drive pawl engages the gas meter drive pawl. These two drive pawls must mate without causing any binding or potential for disengagement. ORION® Integral Endpoint for Sensus® Commercial Gas Meters 5. Place the Sensus index on the ORION integral endpoint in the front holes. Place it so the meter text faces front and the index is centered in the endpoint drive pawl. Place the index drive pawl perpendicular to the endpoint drive pawl. Meter Text Facing Forward Use the two (2) supplied 5/16-18 X 3" mounting screws to attach the index to the ORION integral endpoint and the endpoint to the gas meter.
Installation Data 8. Verify the index drive pawl is centered in the endpoint drive pawl and that they turn just a little. 9. Place the index cover over the index. 10. Secure the index cover with the two (2) remaining 5/16-18 X 3 1/2" screws. Tighten the screws to about 15 inch-pounds.

Trimble Ranger and IR Read Head and Cable Please reference the Programming Guide for ORION gas endpoints and the manual for the handheld system, ORI-IOM-52 Trimble Ranger Installation and Operation Manual.
Installation Data COMPLETE INSTALLATION After programming, place seal caps over the index cover plate screws. Seal Cap This completes the installation of a ORION integral endpoint on a Sensus Integral Commercial Diaphragm Meter with Seal Caps.
