PAGE 3 TOOLS REQUIRED A Phillips or plain screwdriver and an adjustable wrench are needed for assembly. FIRE COLUMN Assembly time: 20 minutes PARTS LIST When unpacking the Fire Column from the carton, make sure you find and become familiar with all the parts listed below. Use caution as some parts may have sharp edges.
PAGE 4 FIRE COLUMN ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 1-8 D P B x2 STEP 1 P x2 P Q M6 x 15MM BOLT M6 HEXNUT ASSEMBLE BOTTOM PLATE D NOTCHED CORNER Place (1) structured panel [ B ] on the work surface with the angled sides up. Make sure the work surface is smooth and soft so it doesn't scratch the panel. Align the bottom plate [ D ] to the structured panel tabs. Note the notched corner of the bottom plate will fit around the angled side of the structured panel.
PAGE 5 FIRE COLUMN ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 2-8 B SLOT PIN C STEP 2 ATTACH SLIDING PANEL Place (1) sliding panel [ C ] on the work surface with the pins up. Align the structured panel [ B ] slots with the pins on the sliding panel [ C ]. Slide panel to lock in place. Make sure all pins align and attach. DO NOT RETURN PRODUCT TO THE STORE. Slide panel to lock in place. Make sure all pins align and attach. DO NOT RETURN PRODUCT TO THE STORE. PAGE 7 FIRE COLUMN ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 4-8 D B P x2 STEP 4 Q x2 P Q M6 x 15MM BOLT M6 HEXNUT ATTACH STRUCTURED PANEL Assemble the structured panel [ B ] to the bottom plate [ D ] using (2) 15MM bolts [ P ] and (2) hexnuts [ Q ]. PAGE 8 FIRE COLUMN ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 5-8 C PIN SLOT STEP 5 ATTACH SLIDING PANEL Align the 8 pins on the sliding panel [ C ] with the slots on the structured panel [ B ]. With all pins engaged, slide panel down to lock in place. Make sure all pins align and attach. CAUTION! Don't pinch fingers between the panels. DO NOT RETURN PRODUCT TO THE STORE. PAGE 9 FIRE COLUMN ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 6-8 GAP GAP PIN NOT LOCKED IN SLOT WILL MAKE GAP Make sure all the panels are locked together. There should be no gaps in the panels. M N N M STEP 6 ASSEMBLE THE COLUMN TOP At the top of the column, make sure the holes are lined up and all the panels are locked together. There should be no gaps in the panels. Use (4) 15MM shoulder bolts. The square shoulder bolt will lock in the square hole on the panel to keep from turning.
PAGE 10 FIRE COLUMN ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 7-8 P R A x4 STEP 7 x4 P R M6 x 15MM BOLT 18MM FLAT WASHER ASSEMBLE THE BASE Carefully turn the column so the feet are upright. Carefully place the base [ A ] onto the feet and align the holes with the rivet nuts. Assemble using (4) 15MM bolts [ P ] and (4) flat washers [ R ]. Tighten bolts securely. PAGE 12 FIRE COLUMN USE INSTRUCTIONS PREPARE TO USE Add easy to ignite material to the bottom of the column such as loose wads paper and/ or kindling on top. Paraffin wax firestarters work well. Carefully add up to 5 lbs. of firewood to the column. Try to arrange firewood loose so air can easily get to the firewood. FIREWOOD Put a match to the easy to ignite material through an opening on the side panel or the bottom plate.
PAGE 13 FIRE COLUMN USE INSTRUCTIONS X DO NOT THROW FIREWOOD INTO COLUMN. X X DO NOT BURN FIREWOOD ON BASE. DO NOT OVERFILL THE COLUMN. X DO NOT BURN FIREWOOD ON TOP OF COLUMN. USAGE TIPS: Do not throw firewood into the column. Do not overfill the column. Do not burn firewood on the base. Do not place or burn firewood on top of the column. Avoid behavior that could cause the Fire Column to tip over. Keep loose clothing away.
HELPFUL HINTS: PAGE 14 FIRE COLUMN • KEEP THE FIRE COLUMN OUT OF THE WEATHER AND ELEMENTS. • STORE THE FIRE COLUMN IN A DRY LOCATION OUT OF THE WEATHER. • DO NOT LET THE BASE WITH ASH CATCHER FILL WITH WATER. • DO NOT DUMP ASHES WHERE A FIRE CAN BE STARTED. • DISPOSE OF ASHES IN PROPER RECEPTACLE ONLY AFTER ASHES HAVE COOLED. • USE ANY COVER ONLY AFTER THE FIRE COLUMN IS COMPLETELY COOL TO THE TOUCH. • STORE THE FIRE COLUMN IN AN AREA SO THAT IT WON'T BE PRONE TO TIPPING OVER AND BEING A HAZARD.
