WEED – dead head the annual weeds (not to pull everything and leave bare spots)
LEAVE – ornamentals (grasses) and wildlife friendly plants (sunflowers)
REMOVE – the rot, sickly, and fungus. OK to bag the bad stuff and set in the sun
and super-charge composting.
PILE- the mulched leaves (run over with the mower set low). A low mow allows
more oxygen to the sod and soil
CUT – woody plants (dead, broken or wildly out of place) so the snow and ice
do not damage the core. Plus the new shoots in spring will have less fighting
READY – the tools and gear so that you can come roaring back in the Spring.
Repair (scrape/sand, paint, oil), store neatly and plan
