The ventilation control measures for nitrous oxide in the delivery room were the scavenging
system (local exhaust ventilation) and the general dilution ventilation (three fresh air supply
outlets located in the ceiling and two wall mounted exhaust grills located near floor level.

4.1.2 Procedure
Formaldehyde levels at the formalin dispensing station were tested for 6.5 hours on July 12,
2001. Silica gel tubes (area samples), colorimetric detector tubes (personal samples) and smoke
tubes (ventilation effectiveness testing) were used throughout the sampling day.
