INSERTING THE BOBBIN INSERTING THE BOBBIN Attention: Turn power switch OFF ("O") before inserting or removing the bobbin. Press the needle position button to raise the needle before inserting or removing the bobbin. 1. Open the hinged cover. 1 2. It is important to be sure that the bobbin is turning in a clockwise direction (arrow). 2 3. Hold the bobbin case with one hand. Insert the bobbin so that the bobbin turns in a clockwise direction. 3 4.
INSERTING THE BOBBIN INSERTING THE BOBBIN 5. Pull the bobbin thread through the metal hook using a clockwise motion. 5 6. Hold the bobbin case by the hinged latch. Insert the bobbin case fully into the shuttle race and release the latch. 6 7. Close the hinged cover.
UPPER THREADING UPPER THREADING 2 1 4 3 5 7 6 8 9 10 Note: It is important to thread the machine correctly. Improper threading could result in several sewing problems. Before threading the machine, raise the needle to its highest point and raise the presser foot to release the tension discs. 1 1. Slide the spool of thread onto the spool pin so the thread unwinds clockwise from the thread spool. Then position the spool cap on the spool pin to secure the spool of thread. 2.
3. Place the thread through the appropriate thread guide opening for the spool pin that is being used. 3 4. Guide the thread into the pre-tension thread guide pulling the thread through the pretension spring as illustrated. 4 5. Pull the thread downward from the thread guide. 5 6. Draw the thread down through the right slot and around the tension dial from the right to left. Pull the thread up to insert it between the tension disks and under the wire loop of the check spring. 6 7.
8. Pass the thread behind the flat, horizontal thread guide and then through the thread guide above the needle. 8 9. Insert the end of the thread through the eye of the needle from front to back or use the needle threader to thread the needle. ( See next page for needle threader instructions.) 9 10.Place the thread under the foot and pull out approximately 15 cm (6 inches) of thread to the back of the machine.
Using the needle threader Attention: Turn power switch to the OFF position ("O"). Raise the needle to its highest position and lower the presser foot. 1. Lower the needle threader lever slowly and draw the thread through the thread guide as illustrated and then to the right. 1 2. Pivot the needle threader into the threading position so the hook pin passes through the needle eye. 2 3. Pass the thread in front of the needle to catch the hook of the threader. 3 4.
Using the net If using special threads which wind quickly off the thread spool, attach a net to the spool before using. * Cut the net to match the size of the spool.
Raising up the lower thread 1. Hold the upper thread with the left hand. Turn the handwheel towards you (counterclockwise) lowering, then raising the needle. 1 2. Gently pull on the upper thread to bring the bobbin thread up through the needle plate hole. The bobbin thread will come up in a loop. 2 3. Pull both threads to the back under the presser foot.
CUTTING THE THREAD CUTTING THE THREAD Raise the presser foot. Remove the fabric, draw the threads to the left side of the face cover and cut using the thread cutter. THE THETWIN TWINNEEDLE NEEDLE * Twin needle is not included with the machine. 2.0~6.0 RA With a twin needle, you can sew two parallel lines of the same stitch using two different threads; however make sure that the two threads are of the same weight and quality for balanced stitching. The needle distance of the twin needle can not exceed 5.0mm. If using a 5.0mm twin needle it is recommended to only use with the straight stitch patterns. 2.0mm twin needle is recommended for use with decorative patterns.
4. Be sure to thread each needle thread path separately. 4 FUNC 5. Select a stitch pattern. Except patterns 27-49 from group 2-B, other patterns can be used with a twin needle. Press the twin needle button, the LED light will turn on, and the machine automatically reduces the maximum width for twin needle sewing by 2mm. 5 6. The LCD screen will display the twin needle "......" symbol. Each time a different stitch is selected, touch the twin needle button for twin needle sewing. 6 7.
ELONGATION ELONGATION RK 2.5~8.0 0.3~1.0 1. The stitch can be elongated up to five times its normal length by pressing the elongation button. FUNC 1 2. The elongation icon appears on the LCD screen with the elongated image of the selected pattern. 2 3. Press the elongation button to lengthen the pattern up to 5 times its original size. Changing the width or length adds to the variety of patterns. Note: Original stitch density remains the same after the pattern is elongated.
MIRROR MIRRORIMAGE IMAGE Note: - Patterns 30-49 from Group 2-B Patterns cannot be mirror imaged. - Mirror imaged patterns can also be combined with other patterns. 1. Press Func and Group 4-D, then select pattern 11. 1 2. Press the mirror image button. 2 3. The LCD screen icon for mirror imaging of the pattern appears. 3 A. Normal pattern sewing. B. MEMORY FUNCTION MEMORY FUNCTION Combined patterns can be stored for later use. Since stored patterns are not lost after the sewing machine is turned off, they can be recalled at any time. This is convenient for patterns, such as names, that will be used often. Note: - Multiple patterns selecting from groups 2-B, 3-C, 4-D, 5-A, 6-A can be combined and sewn together. - Direct Patterns, Group 2-B patterns 27-49 and Group 3-C pattern 00 cannot be entered into memory.
6. Press the desired pattern number. (e.g. 82) (Upper left corner of LCD shows the number of the memory opened- e.g. M2.) 6 7. The selected pattern displays on the LCD screen and the cursor moves to the second position. 7 8. Repeat step 5~7 for more patterns to be stored in the memory. Note: Directly below the memory number is the cursor position in the entire memory pocket. Illustration shows th the cursor in the 3 pattern position; and 2 patterns have been entered. 8 9.
