Time Scale Accuracy
Equipment needed: Fluke calibrator (preferred) or signal generator
1. Connect your calibrator’s output to CH1 of the oscilloscope
by 50ohm feed thru connector. If recommended calibrator is
not available, connect alternative equipment as follows:
2. On the oscilloscope, the time base is switched to the sweep
speed under test.
3. Set up a 10 MHz sine wave output from calibrator.
4. Press the Auto button on oscilloscope to get a stable
waveform.
5. Press the Measure button, soft key Time, and then soft key
Frequency.
6. Press the Acquire button and soft key Mode to set Average
mode.
7. Adjust average to 8. It should read 10 MHz.
8. Switch sweep speed to 100 ms (or 200 ms) to have a stable
frequency reading. This reading should be less than 1 kHz.
