compass mode
With Compass Mode selected and the Pilot
switched OFF, steer the boat onto the desired
heading and allow the boat to settle. Engage the
Pilot in Compass Mode by pressing the ON key
once.
The display changes to Heading and Set CRS
(Course). A rudder position indicator bar is also
displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Course changes can now be made by turning
the rotary knob, or by pressing the –10° and
+10° increment keys.
dodging

Multiple presses of the keys are added together
to give the required course change; e.g. for 20

clockwise. Alternatively, the rotary knob can be
used exclusively to dodge around objects.
The previous autopilot course is automatically
stored in memory. Press the ON
key twice within
four seconds to resume the previous course.
memorising the new course
Press and hold the ON key for two seconds to
update and store the new course in the
autopilot course memory. It is suggested that
this be carried out after every permanent course
change; i.e. not when you have just dodged
around an obstacle.
