USB ANALOG/DIGITAL
MULTI I/O-CARD OUT8-IN8-AD4-DA
Input circuit
The inputs are not galvanically isolated and
compatible to standard CMOS or TTL-signals for
3.3 V or 5V voltage level. Through the pullup
resistance (22k), ground reference switch contacts
or opto coupler can also be evaluated.
The input is protected against transients with
series resistance and clamping diode. However,
voltages over 5 V DC or high energy transients can
damage the input!
The 5 V voltage at the input terminals from
external power supply unit is stabilised at the
circuit board and is made available at the screw
terminals.
Output circuit
The output is directly controlled from an integrated
driver unit ULN 2803, which switches against
ground. The data sheet of the component is
available on the CD in the directory "\PDF“. It can
be operated with only DC voltage of up to 24 V
DC. The driver is not protected against short circuit
and can get damaged on overload.
The maximum output current for each channel is
0.5 A. The cumulative current of all channels
should not exceed 1 A, otherwise the voltage
supply of the actuators must be externally blocked.
The external power pack must be able to supply
the operating current for the connected load. In
case of external connection, the overall current
should not exceed 3 A based on the layout of the
printed circuit board.
The 12 24V voltage from external power supply
unit which is also made available at the output
terminals, is provided with a series connected
reverse polarity protection diode.
The ground terminal GND is connected to the PC
ground and also to the ground of external power
supply unit.
Analog Input
Four input channels are available. The operating
voltage 5 V and 12 … 24 V and two input channels
(1.3 as well as 3.4) are made available at the RJ
12 socket.
The three pole terminal connector are laid out
parallel to RJ12 socket with one channel and 12 …
24 V operating voltage.
The analog inputs can be made compatible to a
wide variety of sensors and industrial measuring
probes through a row connector.
In order to also use resistive sensors as measuring
probes, there is an option to apply the reference
voltage over a attachable pre-resistance at the
sensor, which works as a ratiometric voltage
divider.
