Description
This is the ideal USB-extension card, if maximum
flexibility is required: With 8 digit inputs, 8 digital
outputs, 4 analog inputs and one analog output,
this extension card is the multi talent for PC-based,
analog and digital control systems over USB. All
inputs and outputs are terminated at screw
terminals and the card is provided with extensive
display and checking facilities through LEDs and
switches. Therefore, this is also an ideal card for
demonstration and training!
The digital output of the card is suitable for direct
triggering of valves, relays or stepper motor due to
application of powerful drivers. Integrated free
wheeling diodes enable direct triggering of
inductive loads without further protection
measures. The status of output is signalled over
LEDs.
The digital inputs are not galvanically isolated
and directly compatible to TTL- or CMOS logic
signals. Through the pullup resistance, switch
contacts or opto-coupler can be directly evaluated.
Low-pass filter and a protective circuit ensures
protection against stray signals and transients. The
input status is displayed over LEDs.
The four analog inputs are adjusted over jumper
plugs to match the signal source of 0 ... 1 V or 0 ...
10 V. In the 1V range, current signals can also be
evaluated over an external 50 ohm shunt. A further
speciality is that resistive sensor element like
LDRs of NTCs can also be directly connected to
the card without additional pre-amplifier. In
addition, the sensor element is operated in
ratiometric manner over a configurable voltage
divider over the reference voltage. For simple
offset correction or to test the inputs, there are four
potentiometers on the circuit board which can be
alternatively connected.
