5.1 Overview

The MSView

softwarepackageisusedbyyourPCtoupdatermware,changecustomset-

tings,andviewreal-timecontrollerdata.Congurationwizardsmakeiteasytocustomizethe

features of the device, while an intuitive directory tree organization of variables puts real-time

dataatyourngertips.

MSView

uses the open-source MODBUS

protocol described in Subsection 1.1.2. This means

any MODBUS

capable software is able to access data stored in the controller, however, the

use of MSView

for this purpose is highly recommended.

MSView

is free and can be downloaded from the Morningstar website (found in the Software

Library on the Tech Support page).

NOTE: MSView software is compatible only with Windows-

based PCs. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Intel® 486 or Pentium® processor (or equivalent)•

Microsoft® Windows 95, 98, 2000, Windows XP Professional or Home Edition, Vista•

32MB of RAM (64MB Recommended)•

CD-ROM drive (If installing by CD)•

Up to 1.5MB of available hard-disk space•

Internet connection and service (If downloading from web)•

Web browser (If downloading from web)•

NOTE: In order to customize settings through MSView,

certain DIP switches must be set on the controller. Please

refer to Table 2, at the end of the Section, for proper

settings.

5.2 Installation
