Viewing your electricity rates
YourIHDsupportstwotypesofrates:flatrateandtimeofuse(TOU)rates.Ifyourutilitycompanydoesnotsupport
electricityratedatayouwillbeunabletoviewelectricityratesinformationonyourIHD.

Costsarecalculatedandstoredusingtherateineffectatthetime
theelectricityisconsumed.

Newelectricityrateswillimpactelectricitycostsasoftheireffectivedateandtime.Newpricingwillnotalterpreviously
storedelectricitycosts.

Thesecostsareforinformationalandeducationalpurposesonlyandwillnotexactlymatchyourelectricitybill.

Flatrates

Flatrates
remainthesamethroughoutthedayandeverydayduringtheweek.

Forexample,ifyourflatrateis8.5¢/kWh,thenpriceof1kWhusedat8AMonMondaywillbethesameas1kWhused
at5PMonWednesdayorat3AMonSaturday.

Timeof
userates

Timeofuse(TOU)ratesvaryinpricebasedonwhenyouuseelectricity.

Thetimeoftheday,dayoftheweek,andseasonoftheyearcanallimpactyourcost.

Underatimeofuseratestructure,youwillbenefitfromminimizingyourelectricity
useduring periodsofhighcost.In
theexamplebelow,electricityismostexpensiveinthesummerbetweenthehoursof11AMand5PMandduringthe
winterduringthehoursof7AMand11AMand5PMand7PM.


