As an example, to setup a FTP server on a computer using 10.0.0.88 as its IP Address, select
a suitable Rule Index, Select the Select an Application radio button, select FTP Server as
Service and enter 10.0.0.88 as the Server Local IP Address. Select TCP. UDP or Both from
the Protocol list as appropriate, and click Apply. If the service you want to setup is not
available from the Select a Application or Game Rules drop-down list, you can define your
own Port Forwarding rule by selecting Custom Application and giving the rule a name in
the provided text box. Then you should enter the Public (ports that are accessed on the Wan
IP) and Private port (ports that the WAN ports will be forwarded to on the LAN) ranges.
You should then select the appropriate Protocol and click Apply to save.
IP Filtering
The router supports IP Filtering, which allows you to easily set up rules to control incoming
and outgoing Internet traffic. This filter is able to block both incoming and outgoing traffic
based on MAC address, IP address, URL or certain applications. This can be a useful
function for instance to prevent your children/employees from accessing social networking
during homework/work time, or restricting FTP downloads to after hours.
