Sharing Mode
Sharing Mode is used to allow Quadro to use the FXO lines on other Quadro. This provides a possibility to call not only through local FXO lines but
also through available shared FXO lines in the network of Quadros. When sharing mode is enabled and one Quadro is configured to use the shared
FXO lines of another Quadro, corresponding routing patterns will be automatically created in the Call Routing Tables (see
Call Routing) on both
Quadros which will lead to FXO call routing between the two Quadros.
Attention: Any changes in this page will lead to the corresponding configuration changes on the slave device the FXO lines of which are currently
used by the actual Quadro.
Use FXO lines of the other device checkbox is used to make
Quadro to use the shared FXO lines on some remote device.
Selection requires to configure the Authorization Parameters.
Use the same named link to access the Authorization
Parameters table.
Fig. II-102: Sharing Mode page
The Authorization Parameters page is used to create accounts for the remote Quadros to connect the Quadro and share the available FXO lines.
Table on this page lists all available accounts and information whether a device with corresponding authentication parameters (username and
password) is currently registered and if so, indicates the date/time of the last registration.
Add functional button opens Add Entry page where a new account can be configured. A Username and a Password is required here.
To use the shared remote FXO lines
1. Enter Sharing Mode page by clicking the same named link on the FXO Settings page.
2. Select the Use FXO lines of the other device checkbox.
3. Press Save to apply the selection.
4. Enter the Authorization Parameters page.
5. Create an account with certain Username and a Password.
ISDN Settings
Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is distinguished by digital telephony and data-transport services offered by regional telephone carriers.
ISDN involves the digitization of the telephone network, which permits voice, data, text, graphics, music, video, and other source material to be
transmitted over existing telephone wires. The ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) service offers two B channels (voice transfer) and one D channel
(signaling data transfer). The BRI B-channel service operates at 64 kbit/s and is meant to carry user data; the BRI D-channel service operates at 16
kbit/s and is meant to carry control and signaling information, although it can support user data transmission under certain circumstances.
ISDN service allows Quadro act as a user or as network. If connected to a private PBX, the Quadro should be configured in the network mode. If an
ISDN trunk from the CO (Central Office) is connected to the Quadro, it should be configured as a user. Quadro supports MSN (Multiple Subscriber
Number) service, i.e., it can be subscribed to multiple numbers from the CO, and two simultaneous calls can take place at a time.
The ISDN Trunk Settings page is used to configure the ISDN trunk and its signaling. The page offers the following input options:
The Trunk Settings table lists the available ISDN trunks on the
Quadro and their settings (trunk name and interface types).
Edit functional button opens an Edit Entry page where ISDN
Trunk specific settings can be configured (see below).
Start and Stop functional links are used to start/shutdown the
selected ISDN trunk(s). When an ISDN trunk is in a shutdown
state, no ISDN calls can be placed and received.
Restart functional link is used to bring channel(s) to the initial
idle state on the both sides. When applying one of these
options, any active traffic on the channel(s) will be terminated.
Copy to Trunk(s) functional link displays a page used to
choose a trunk to which selected trunk’s settings should be
copied to.
Settings functional link leads to the ISDN wizard where ISDN
signaling settings can be configured (see below).
Restore Default Settings functional link restores the default
signaling settings of the selected ISDN trunk(s).
