This decision must be made prior to installation, as it cannot be changed at a later date without replumbing. Install the grommets to the nailing in flanges on the valve body. If space permits, screw or nail the flanges to stud or header board to support the valve. Flush the Valve Remove the protective caps. Use a 17 mm deep socket wrench to remove the spout outlet plug. Install a hose bibb and hose (not included). Direct the hose to a location where water can do no damage. Turn the water on to the valve and flush for 5 minutes. Turn the water off.
Use a 27 mm deep socket wrench to remove the cartridge cover. Remove the flush insert. Turn the flush insert 180o. Replace the flush insert and the cartridge cover. Tighten the cartridge cover with the deep socket wrench. Turn on the water again and flush for another 5 minutes. Turn off the water. Remove the hose and hose bibb. Reinstall the spout outlet plug. Pressure test the unit. max.
