2. Use the Clinician Programmer to check the impedances and ensure good funcon and connecvity of the system.
Notes:
• The Neurosmulator should be in the subcutaneous pocket during system interrogaon to ensure proper readings.
• Refer to the Clinician Programming Manual for detailed instrucon on checking the system integrity and impedances.
3. Use the suture hole in the header to secure the Neurosmulator to the muscle fascia with non-absorbable silk.
Completing the Implant Procedure
1. Close and dress all incisions.
2. Any opened or used products which are no longer sterile should be discarded appropriately. It is recommended to
recycle non-biohazardous waste to the extent possible.
3. Program the paent’s Neurosmulator and Remote Control. Refer to the Clinician Programming Manual for more
detailed instrucon.
4. Give a Remote Control and paent ID card to the paent.
Cauon
The paent should carry the Remote Control at all mes to be able to adjust or turn o the Neurosmulator.
5. Complete the system registraon paperwork and return to Axonics.
6. Schedule the paent’s follow-up visits at regular intervals to ensure that the smulaon is programmed opmally.
Post-Surgery Management
Paents should be monitored post implant. Administer prophylacc anbiocs for 24 hours.
Paents should avoid sudden movements and pung pressure on implant site. This will reduce risk of movement or
migraon of the implanted system.
Replacing the Neurostimulator
1. Carefully open the implant site and remove the Neurosmulator from the subcutaneous pocket. Avoid cung the ned
lead to preserve for connecon with the new Neurosmulator.
2. Clean the Neurosmulator connector block and lead with sterile water. Wipe both dry with sterile gauze.
3. Use the torque wrench to loosen the setscrew in the Neurosmulator connector block by turning it counterclockwise
(Figure 5).
4. Gently remove the lead from the Neurosmulator.
Cauon
Replace any device that shows signs of damage, ping, or corrosion.
5. Set aside the explanted components.
6. Connect the lead and replacement Neurosmulator according to the steps above.
Dispose of explanted devices as bio-hazardous waste.
