These dividers will scale up or down
with a high degree of accuracy. You
could use a ruler and a calculator to
work it out, but proportional dividers
will do it for you automatically. By adjusting the joint, you can
set the tool to any transfer ratio from 1:1 to 1:10. The distance
between points at one end is in the chosen ratio to the points
at the opposite end. The dividers have other functions. They will
divide the circumference into equal segments, from 6 to 15. Using
the GS mark gives the ratio of 1:1.618 hence GS for Golden Section.
The mark Square Root 2, gives the length of the hypotenuse of
a right angle triangle with two equal sides, or 1:1.414. This is an
invaluable tool for transferring scale. Use for drafting, technical
drawing and chart making. It has a passivated-chrome fi nish with
stainless steel points. The overall length is 185mm.
A handy little cutter which will produce tear-free cuts in a variety
of thin and fragile materials, including paper, card and fabrics. Can
be used freehand or with a straight edge.

or craftworker. The movable head locks for comparative
measurement using a small thumbscrew. The easy-to-read non-
refl ective 100mm scale is calibrated to a resolution of 0.05mm. The

Sliding Bevels
Transferring a line from face side of timber to face edge and vica
versa is now as easy as falling off a log. With this saddle square
the line can be marked in both planes without moving the square
hence maintaining prime accuracy without really trying. Produced
in anodised aluminium to a practical but stylish design, and
available in two sizes. One at 50mm wide, (the standard), forms an
“L”, of 32 x 57mm, the large version 34 x 84mm and 38mm wide has
a central slot for locating and marking stud locations accurately.
