accidental groove. The back bar of the Truing Tool prevents the
diamond tipped dresser from removing more material than
necessary. So dressing and truing becomes a quick and safe
operation with minimal change to the wheel other than the
restoration of its free grinding surface.

The broad clamping area fi rmly secures long or thin fi lleting type
knives. The handle rotates so the grinding angle can be fi ne tuned.
Grind until a burr can be felt along the entire edge, then fl ip the jig
over and grind the opposite edge to the exact same angle.

possible to hone the bevels of out cannel carving tools, vee tools
and in and out cannel fi rmer gouges in a variety of widths. Use in

bevel angle can be set up for those tools requiring larger angles,
such as woodturning scrapers, where the angle can be almost
square. The special shape of the holes through which the tool

Carving tools and other short tools such as small butt chisels
are never the easiest to ‘jig up’. This relatively simple jig answers
the problem very well, the tool is clamped fi rmly and then it’s
a simple matter of adjusting the tool rest in height to achieve
the chosen grinding angle. The internal vee shape automatically
centres the tool and allows for quite narrow tools and power
carving blades to be sharpened on the Jet Wetstone. This is a real
must-have accessory.
