revolving wheel, effectively turns the 250g stone into a much
fi ner grindstone. With the stone changed in this way a much
more refi ned edge is achievable, as the tool’s edge will have much
reduced grinding marks. Once fi nished, re-apply the Grader using
its coarse side and the grindstone is magically transformed back
into its original free cutting form.

This small tool is used either to measure an existing bevel angle
or check progress when re-grinding a new angle. If a certain angle
is found to work well in a particular situation, the angle can be
accurately measured and using the Angle Setting Jig, other tools
ground exactly the same.

Jet Wetstone Straight Edge Jig
The Jet Angle Setting Jig gives repeatable accuracy when setting
up to grind at a specifi c bevel angle. The ability to reproduce a
particular angle time and time again is one of the great benefi ts
of the Jet Wetstone Sharpener. The Angle Setting Jig not only
allows complete control but is also adjustable to compensate for
any decrease in wheel diameter caused by wear over time. This
item is supplied as standard with a new machine.

Jet Wetstone Angle Setting Jig
For general purpose knives, paring knives, pen knife blades
etc. The head of the jig allows for the acute bevels required for
knives to be ground with ease. The blade is securely clamped and
the fi nal bevel angle fi nely adjusted by turning the jig handle
clockwise or anticlockwise.

The lower portion of the stone runs in a bath of water. As the
stone revolves it carries the water continuously over the grinding
surface, thus cooling it and eliminating the risk of overheating.
The grindstone runs at 90 - 150rpm, driven by a compact
powerful 160W motor. Motor speed is controlled by a variable
speed switch. When the grindstone diameter is 250mm, run the
grinder at the lower 90rpm setting. Over time with constant
use the grindstone will wear, the speed can be increased to
compensate for this, so maintaining the optimum surface speed
at all times.
The Sharpener includes: a Stone Grader, applying this
changes the stone from coarse to fi ne and back again, a
Straight Edge Jig for hand plane blades and chisels, an Angle
Setting Jig, for precise repeatability, a Bevel Angle Measuring
Device, to measure the existing bevel angle of your tools, a
tube of Honing Compound for that fi nal polished edge, the
support arm to carry the jigs and adjust the angle of attack
and an instructional DVD.
