AXIS Q7404 - Pan Tilt Zoom
Daisy chain PTZ
PTZ devices can be connected in a daisy chain allowing the devices to share a single serial port:
1. Connect the PTZ devices in a daisy chain and connect the daisy chain to serial
port 1 (RS-485 or RS-422).
2. Go to the web interface for video channel 1 and install the PTZ device (see
Installing PTZ devices, on page 26). Select Daisy Chain PTZ from the Usage
drop-down list.
3. Optionally, enter an Authentication key to prevent unauthorized access to the
serial port.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all video channels that you intend to use PTZ on. Install the
same PTZ driver on each channel.
Note:
The PTZ driver must support daisy chaining.
PTZ configuration
Once PTZ has been installed for the AXIS Q7404, PTZ now appears in the menu to the left along with the following sub menus.
Preset positions
A preset position is a pre-defined camera view than can be used to quickly move the camera to a specific location.
From Preset Position Setup, use the Pan, Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) controls to steer the camera to the required position. When
satisfied with the camera's position, enter a descriptive name. Click Add to save the camera position, iris and focus settings as
a preset position.
The position can be assumed at any time, by selecting the preset's name from the Preset positions drop-down list. Preset
positions can be selected in the Live View page; they can be selected as an action when an event is triggered as a part of a
Guard Tour.
One position can be set as the Home position, which is readily accessible by clicking the box beside Use current position as
Home. The position's name will then have (H) added to the end, for example, Office Entrance (H).
