Exposurepriority-WhenMotionisprioritizedandmaximumShuttertimeissettoasmallvalue,motionblurintheimageis

minimized.Thiscanbeusefulforrecognitionofmovingobjectssuchaspeopleandvehicles.However,prioritizingmotionmaycause

anincreaseinimagenoise,especiallyinlowlightsituations.WhenLownoiseisprioritizedandGainissettoasmallvalue,image

noiseisminimized.Thelesizeisreduced,whichcanbeusefulifstoragespaceorbandwidthislimited.However,prioritizinglow

noisemayresultinaverydarkimage,especiallyinlowlightsituations.

Theshutterandgainsettingsaffecttheamountofmotionblurandnoiseintheimage.Toadapttodifferentlighting,available

storagespaceandbandwidth,itisoftennecessarytoprioritizeeitherlowmotionblurorlownoise.TheAxisproductallows

usingdifferentprioritizationinnormallightandinlowlight.

SetExposurepriorityto

•Automatictosettheshutterspeedautomatically.

•Lowmotionblurtoprioritizelowmotionblur.

•Lownoisetoprioritizelownoise.

ItisalsopossibletosettheMinandMaxlimitsforShutterandGain.

Shutterisrelatedtotheamountoftimetheshutterisopenedandismeasuredinseconds(s).Aslowshutterspeedallowsmorelight

toreachthesensorandcanhelpproduceabrighterimageinlowlightsituations.Ontheotherhand,aslowshutterspeedcan

causemovingobjectstoappearblurry.

Gain,measuredindecibel(dB),istheamountofamplicationappliedtotheimage.Ahighgainmayprovideabetterimageinlow

lightsituationsbutwillincreasetheamountofimagenoise.

Example

Ifstoragespaceorbandwidthislimited,tryusingalowergain.Thiswillreduceimagenoiseandproducesmallerimageles.

Day/Night

TheIRcutlterpreventsinfrared(IR)lightfromreachingtheimagesensor.Inpoorlightingconditions,forexampleatnight,orwhen

usinganexternalIRlamp,settheIRcutltertoOff.Thisincreaseslightsensitivityandallowstheproductto“see”infraredlight.The

imageisshowninblackandwhitewhentheIRcutlterisoff.

IfusingautomaticExposurecontrol,settheIRcutltertoAutotoautomaticallyswitchbetweenOnandOffaccordingtothe

lightingconditions.

TheDay/Nightshiftlevelbarhelpsdeterminewhenthecamerawillshiftfromdaymodetonightmode.Normally,thecamera

automaticallychangesmodefromdaytonightwhenverydark(level100intheslider).BysettingDay/Nightshiftleveltoa

lowervalue,thecamerawillchangetonightmodeearlier.

AligntheChannelImages

ThelensesintheAxisproductarealignedduringproduction.Howevernetuningoftheimagealignmentmayberequireddepending

on,forinstance,thedistanceswithinthescene.Alsoalargeroverlapbetweentheimageswillguaranteeacompletecoverageof

thewholescenetoalargerextent.

TosettheindividualimagealignmentforeachchannelgotoSetup>Video>CaptureAlignmentandusetheLEFT/RIGHTand

UP/DOWNbuttonsorenteravalueinpixelsdirectly.

ViewArea

Aviewareaisacroppedpartofthefullview.EachviewareaistreatedasavideosourceinLiveViewandhasitsownvideo

streamandPTZsettings.

Whensettingupaviewareaitisrecommendedthatthevideostreamresolutionisthesamesizeasorsmallerthantheviewarea

size.Settingthevideostreamresolutionlargerthantheviewareasizeimpliesdigitallyscaledupvideoaftersensorcapture,

requiringmorebandwidthwithoutaddingimageinformation.
