AXIS Camera Station - AXIS Camera Station Service Control
Database backup
The database stores information about configurations, recordings etc that is needed for AXIS Camera Station to work properly.
The database is backed up every night. The backups are saved to a Backup folder which can be located on the local computer
or the network. To change the backup folder, click Browse and navigate to the desired location. The oldest backup will be
deleted when the number of saved backups exceeds the value specified in Number of backups to keep. Up to 30 backups can
be kept in the same folder.

• The backup will be saved to the default location if it cannot be written to the folder specified, for example if the
server cannot access the folder. The

• The backup files are named acs_system_<date_time>.fdb and license_system_<date_time>.fdb.
Recordings are stored in the location specified in Con
figuration > Recording storage and not in the database, see Set up
recording storage, on page 26. Recor
dings should be backed up separately.
Proxy settings
If there is a direct connection with the Client and cameras in the system the default Direct connection radio button should be
selected. If AXIS Camera Station Server is behind a proxy server, and cameras and/or clients are outside the proxy server,
modify the proxy settings manually by selecting Use manual proxy settings. The proxy settings entered here are probably the
same as those entered in the Internet Options in the Control Panel.

communication does not need to pass through the proxy server. For more information, see Cameras outside of the local
