DevicesandCameras

InAXISCameraStation,theterms“device”and“camera”areusedasfollows:

DeviceAnetworkproductthathasitsownIPaddress.Adevicecanbe:

•anetworkcamera

•avideoencoder(videoserver)

•anauxiliarydevice

Camera

Avideosource,thatis:

•anetworkcamera

•avideoport(withaconnectedanalogcamera)onavideoencoder

•aviewareainanetworkcameraorvideoencoder

AuxiliarydeviceAnetworkdevicewithoutvideoports.Auxiliarydevicescanbeaddedwithoutanadditional

AXISCameraStationlicense.InAXISCameraStationversion4,thefollowingauxiliarydevicescanbeadded:

•AXISA1001NetworkDoorController

•AXISP8221NetworkI/OAudioModule

A4-portvideoencoderisonedevicewithfourcameras.

Note

SomevideoencodershaveoneIPaddressforeachvideoport.Inthiscase,eachvideoportistreatedasonedevicewith

onecamera.

MultipleServers

AXISCameraStationClientcanbeconnectedtomultipleAXISCameraStationServers.Serverscanbeorganizedinserverlists,

seeServerLists,below.

ToconnecttoanewServer:

1.SelectFile>NewConnection.

2.SelectRemoteserverandentertheIPaddressorDNSnameofthecomputeronwhichtheServerisinstalled.

3.ClickLogOn.

TodisplayinformationaboutconnectedServers,selectFile>ConnectionStatus.

WhenconnectedtomorethanoneServer,theSelectedserverdrop-downlistisdisplayedinthetoolbarintheLiveView,Recordings

andLogsworkspacesandinseveraldialogs.WhenSelectedserverisshown,theClientdisplaysdevices,recordings,logsetconthe

selectedServer.SelectanotherServertoaccessdevicesandrecordingsonthatServer.

TheCameraManagementworkspaceandtheAlarmsandTaskstabsdisplaydevicesandalarmsfromallconnectedServers.
