Troubleshooting

UpdateGraphicsCardDriver

ForAXISCameraStationtorunproperly,thegraphicscardinthecomputermustusethelatestdriver.

Updatethegraphicscarddriverif"Thegraphicscardismorethan12monthsold"or"Graphicscarderror"isdisplayed.

Tondoutwhatgraphicscardisinstalledinthecomputer,thediagnosticprogramdxdiagcanbeused.

1.Opendxdiag.exe

-Windows8,WindowsServer2012:GototheStartscreenandtypedxdiag.

-Windows7,WindowsVista,WindowsServer2008:OpentheStartmenuandtypedxdiaginthesearcheld.

2.IfapromptappearsfortheDiagnosticTool,clickYes.

3.SelecttheDisplaytab.ThenameofthegraphicscardappearsunderDevice.

Todownloadthelatestdrivergotothegraphicscardmanufacturer'swebsite.Someofthemorecommononesare

•nVidia-www.nvidia.com

•ATI-www.ati.com

•S3-www.s3graphics.com

Toupgradethegraphicscarddriver:

1.Downloadthedriverfromthemanufacturer'swebsite.

2.Makesurethattherearenootherprogramsrunningonthecomputer.

3.Runtheinstallerandfollowthewizardtoinstallnecessaryles.

4.Restartthecomputer.

UseCPUforVideoRendering

TousetheCPUforvideorendering:

1.NavigatetotheAXISCameraStationClientinstallationfolder.Thedefaultlocationis:

C:\ProgramFiles\AxisCommunications\AXISCameraStation\Client(Current

version)

2.OpentheleAcsClient.exe.configinatexteditor,forexampleNotepad.

3.Findthisentry:

<settingname="ForceCompatibilityVideoMode"serializeAs="String">

<value>False</value>

</setting>

4.ChangethevaluefromFalsetoTrue.

5.SavetheleandrestartAXISCameraStation.

Note

UsingtheCPUforvideorenderingresultsinhigherCPUusage.

RecoverLostData

IfAXISCameraStationdatabaseislostduetohardwarefailureorotherproblems,thedatabasecanberestoredfromasaved

backup.Bydefault,backuplesarekeptfor14days.
