Database

TheAXISCameraStationdatabasestoresrecordingandcongurationinformationthatisneededforthesystemtoworkproperly.

Thedatabaseisbackedupeverynight.SeeDatabaseBackup,onpage66.

Databasemaintenanceshouldbeperformedifthealarm"Databasemaintenanceisrequired"isdisplayedorifthesystemwasshut

downunexpectedly,forexampleafterapoweroutage.SeeDatabaseMaintenance,onpage66.

DatabaseBackup

TheAXISCameraStationdatabaseisbackedupeverynight.Thebackupscanbestoredonthelocalcomputerorthenetwork.To

changetheBackupfolder,opentheServiceControlandselecttheDatabasetab.Theoldestbackupswillbedeletedafterthe

numberofdaysspeciedinDaystokeepbackups.

Important

RecordingsarestoredinthelocationspeciedinConguration>Recordingstorageandnotinthedatabase.Recordings

shouldbebackedupseparately.

Note

•Thebackupwillbesavedtothedefaultlocationifitcannotbewrittentothefolderspecied,forexampleiftheServer

cannotaccessthefolder.Thedefaultlocationis:

C:\ProgramData\AxisCommunications\AXISCameraStationServer\backup

•Thebackuplesarenamedacs_system_<date_time>.fdbandlicense_system_<date_time>.fdb

DatabaseMaintenance

Databasemaintenanceshouldbeperformedifthealarm"Databasemaintenanceisrequired"isdisplayedorifthesystemwas

shutdownunexpectedly,forexampleafterapoweroutage.

Duringmaintenance,AXISCameraStationServerandallongoingrecordingswillbestopped.TheServerisstartedautomaticallyafter

maintenance.

Tostartdatabasemaintenance:

1.OpentheServiceControl,seepage64.

2.SelecttheDatabasetab.

3.ClickRun.

4.Theestimateddowntimewillbedisplayed.ClickYestocontinueorclickNotocancel.Note:Oncestarted,theprocess

cannotbecanceled.

Donotturnoffthecomputerduringmaintenance.
