NetworkandSecurityConﬁguration

IfAXISCameraStationClient,AXISCameraStationServerandtheconnectednetworkdevicesareinstalledondifferentnetworks,it

mightbenecessarytocongureproxyand/orrewallsettings.

•IftheClientandtheServerareseparatedbyaproxyserver,theclientproxysettingsshouldbemodied,seeClient

ProxySettings,onpage61.

•IftheClientandtheServerareseparatedbyaNAT,rewallorsimilar,theNATorrewallshouldbemodied,seeNAT

andFirewall,below.

•IfnetworkdevicesandtheServerareseparatedbyaproxyserver,theserverproxysettingsshouldbemodied,see

ServerProxySettings,below.

IfthelocalnetworkusesaproxyforInternetconnection,itmightbenecessarytoconguretheproxysettingsto:

•registerlicensesusingtheautomaticregistrationoption(serverproxysettings)

•checkforanddownloadrmwareupdates(clientproxysettings).

SecurityConsiderations

Topreventunauthorizedaccesstocamerasandrecordings,keepthefollowinginmind:

•Usestrongpasswordsforallnetworkdevices(cameras,videoencodersandauxiliarydevices).

•InstallAXISCameraStationServer,cameras,videoencodersandauxiliarydevicesonasecurenetworkseparatedfrom

theofcenetwork.AXISCameraStationClientcanbeinstalledonacomputeronanothernetwork,forexample

anetworkwithInternetaccess.

•Makesureallusershavestrongpasswords.UsingWindowsActiveDirectoryahighlevelofsecuritycanbeimplemented,

seeUserPermissions,onpage62.

NATandFirewall

IfthereisaNAT,rewallorsimilarthatseparatesAXISCameraStationServerfromAXISCameraStationClient,itmightbenecessary

toconguretheNATand/orrewalltoallowaccesstothenetwork.MakesurethattheHTTPport,TCPportandstreamingport

speciedinAXISCameraStationServiceControlareallowedtopassthroughtherewalland/orNAT.

NATorrewall,contactthenetworkadministrator.

Note

Someantivirusprogramsalsoblockapplicationsfromaccessingthenetwork,similartoarewall.Toconguretheantivirus

programtoallowtheClientand/orServertoaccessthenetwork,refertothedocumentationprovidedwiththeprogram.

ServerProxySettings

Theserverproxysettingsneedtobeconguredif:

•AXISCameraStationServerandthenetworkdevicesareseparatedbyaproxyserver

•thenetworkusesaproxyforInternetconnectionandyouwanttoregisterlicenses.
