Eventcongurationisapowerfultooltoreducethenumberofrecordings,tointeractwithdevicesconnectedtoI/Oportsandtoalert

operatorsaboutimportantevents.

Tocongureevents,AXISCameraStationusesrules.Aruleisasetofconditionsthatdenehowandwhenactionsshouldbe

performed.Aruleconsistsoftriggersandactions.Triggersdenewhentheruleshouldbeactivated.Arulecanhavemultiple

triggersandwillbeactiveaslongasanyofthetriggersisactive.Iftherulehasmultipleactions,allactionswillbeperformed

whentheruleisactivated.

Triggers

Thefollowingtriggersareavailable:

MotionDetectionThemotiondetectiontriggerisactivatedwhentheselectedcameradetectsmotionwithina

denedarea.Detectionisperformedbythecamerawhichmeansthatnoprocessingloadto

AXISCameraStationServer.

Avoidusingthemotiondetectiontriggertostartrecordingsifmotionrecordingisenabledinthe

camera.Tondoutifmotionrecordingisenabled,gotoConguration>RecordingSettings.

ActiveTamperingAlarmThetamperingtriggerisactivatedwhentheselectedcameraisrepositionedorwhenthelensis

covered,sprayedorseverelydefocused.Tamperingdetectionispreformedbythecamerawhich

meansthatnoprocessingloadisaddedtoAXISCameraStationServer.

ActiveTamperingAlarmisavailableforcameraswithsupportforCameraTamperingandwith

rmware5.11orlater.

AXISCrossLineDetectionAXISCrossLineDetectionisanapplicationthatcanbeinstalledoncamerasandvideoencoders.

Theapplicationdetectsmovingobjectsthatcrossavirtuallineandcan,forexample,beusedto

monitorentranceandexitpoints.

BeforeusingAXISCrossLineDetectionasatrigger,theapplicationmustbeinstalledonthe

camera.Downloadtheapplicationfromwww.axis.com.ThengototheCameraManagement

workspace,selectthecamera,right-clickandselectInstallcameraapplication.SeeCamera

Thetriggerisactivatedwhenanapplicationdetectsamovingobject.Sincedetectionisperformed

bytheapplicationonthecamera,noprocessingloadisaddedtoAXISCameraStationServer.

AXISCrossLineDetectioncanbeinstalledonproductswithsupportforAXISCameraApplication

Platform.

SystemEventandError

Asystemeventanerrortriggerisactivatedwhenrecordingerrorsoccur,whenadiskbecomesfull,

whenanetworksharecannotbecontactedorwhenconnectiontooneormoredevicesislost.

Input/Output

TheInput/Output(I/O)triggerisactivatedwhenadevice’sI/Oportreceivesasignalfrom,for

example,aconnecteddoor,smokedetectororswitch.

BeforeusinganI/Otrigger,theI/OportmustbeaddedtoAXISCameraStation.Goto

Conguration>I/OSettings.SeeAddInputsandOutputs,onpage43.

DeviceEventThedeviceeventtriggerisintendedforadvancedusers.Thetriggeruseseventsfromthecamera

orauxiliarydeviceandcanbeusedifnoothertriggerisapplicable.Supportedbyproducts

withrmware5.40andlater.

ActionButtonActionbuttonsareusedtostartandstopactionsinLiveView.Actionbuttonsaredisplayedon

topofthelivevieworinamap.Whenclickingthebutton,theactionwillbeperformed.Formore
