EnableAudioinLiveView
ToenableaudioinLiveView,followthesesteps:
1.FromtheCongurationmenu,selectLiveViewSettings.
2.SelectacameraandclickEdit.
3.FromtheProledrop-downlist,selectamediaprolewhereaudioisenabled.Ifthereisnosuchprole,clickChange
andcreateone.SelectH.264orMPEG-4;audioisnotsupportedwithM-JPEG.
4.Toenableaudioinsplitviews,clickLargeSplitstodisplaytheoverridesettings.Checktheappropriateboxesandselecta
mediaprolewhereaudioisenabled.Ifthereisnosuchprole,clickChangeandcreateone.SelectH.264orMPEG-4;
audioisnotsupportedwithM-JPEG.
5.ClickOK.
EnableAudioinRecordings
Toenableaudioinrecordingsfollowthesesteps:
1.FromtheCongurationmenu,selectRecordingSettings.
2.SelectacameraandclickContinuous,MotionDetectionorManual.
3.FromtheProledrop-downlist,selectamediaprolewhereaudioisenabled.Ifthereisnosuchprole,clickChange
andcreateone.SelectH.264orMPEG-4;audioisnotsupportedwithM-JPEG.
4.ClickOK.
CongureaMediaProle
Amediaproleisacollectionofsettingssuchasvideoformat,resolution,compressionandframerate.Mediaprolesareused
inliveviewandrecordingsettings.
Tocongureamediaproleforliveview,gotoConguration>LiveViewSetting,selectthecameraandclickEdit.Selecta
prolefromthelistorclickChangetocreateanewprole.
Tocongureamediaproleforrecordings,gotoConguration>RecordingSettingsandselectthecameraandrecordingmethod.
SelectaprolefromthelistorclickChangetocreateanewprole.
Mediaprolesettings:
Format-Selectvideoformat.Availableoptionsdependoncameramodel.H.264issupportedbymostcameramodelsandrequires
lessbandwidthanddiskspacecomparedto,forexample,M-JPEG.
Resolution-Selectresolution.Availableoptionsdependoncameramodel.Ahigherresolutiongivesanimagewithmoredetailsbut
requiresmorebandwidthanddiskspace.
Framerate-Setthedesiredframerate.Theactualframeratedependsoncameramodel,networkconditionsandcomputer
conguration.SelectMaxtoalwaysusethemaximumframeratepossible.
Compression-Setcompressionlevel.Lowercompressionimprovesimagequality,butrequiresmorebandwidthanddiskspace.
Audio-Selectthisoptiontoenableaudiointhemediaprole.AudiocanbeusedwithMPEG-4andH.264video,andisavailablefor
cameraswithbuilt-inaudioandforcamerasusedtogetherwithanexternalaudiodevice.
Note
WhenusingH.264orM-JPEGvideo,severalmediaprolescanbedened.WhenusingMPEG-4video,itisonlypossibleto
deneoneprole.
