MakeTestCalls
TomakesurethatcallscanbemadefromtheAxisproduct,youcanmakeatestcall:
1.GotoSetup>VoIP>SIPSettingsorSetup>VoIP>AccountSettings.
2.Inthetestcalleld,enteravalidSIPaddresstotheotherdevice.Usetheformatsip:<extension>@<domain>or
sips:<extension>@<domain>.Formoreinformationandexamples,seeAboutSIPAddressesonpage16.
3.ClickTestcall.Thetestcallismadefromthedefaultaccount.Formoreinformation,seeTransportSettingsonpage15.

4.Toendthecall,clickEndcall.
AboutSIPAddresses
SIPaddressesareusedtoidentifyuserswithinanetworkjustlikeyouwoulduseaphonenumberoranemailaddresstocontacta
friendorcolleague.Oneofthemajordifferencesbetweenphonecalls,emails,andSIPcallsisthattheyusedifferentprotocolsto
startandendconversations.
Likeemailaddresses,SIPaddressesareatypeofuniformresourceidentier(URI)thatincludestwouser-specicparts,auserIDor
extensionandadomainorIPaddress.Togetherwithaprexandthe@symbol,theymakeupauniqueaddress.Forexample,if
CaesarofancientRomehadbothanemailaddressandaSIPaddress,theywouldbemailto:[e-mail]
sip:[e-mail]ptions,seebelow.
