Using Hard Disk Caching for Increased Performance
1. Start your Web browser and enter the name or IP address of the StorPoint CD in the
location/address field.
2. Click admin. You will be prompted for the Server username and password. By default, this is
set to
root and pass.
3. From the This StorPoint page, click Settings and select the Caching tab.
4. Set the default cache mode by choosing the appropriate radio button: None, Partial or Mirror.
Optionally, select the file cache size from the drop down list.
5. Make the required selections. Click Save.
Using Hard Disk Caching for Archiving Discs
1. Start your Web browser and enter the name or IP address of the StorPoint CD in the
location/address field.
2. Click admin. You will be prompted for the Server password. By default, this is set to
pass.
3. Open the Discs & Drives page. This page includes three views that you select from the drop
down list:
• Discs and File System view
• Drives view
• Cached Discs view
Note:
The Archive settings on the Discs & Drives page will override the default cache mode specified
on the This StorPoint | Settings | Caching page.
