Shutting Down the StorPoint CD
If you need to shut down the StorPoint CD after it has been installed, make sure it is shut down
safely otherwise you risk loosing data. Do NOT turn off the power before the StorPoint CD has
been shut down. Follow these steps:
1. On the This StorPoint page, click the Shutdown Server button.
2. Click OK in the confirmation dialog.
Your StorPoint CD will shut down and you can now turn off the power.
Setting the Server Password
To protect the system files, it is important that you set the Server password. The Server password is
used in basically all protocols, i.e. HTTP, NetWare (NCP), Windows (SMB), UNIX (NFS),
SNMP and FTP. For example, a user will be prompted for the Server password when trying to
access the Administration Web pages for the first time during a session.
To set the Server password, follow these steps:
1. On the This StorPoint page, click Settings to open the Server settings dialog box.
2. Open the General page.
3. Specify and confirm the Server password. Click Save.
4. Click Close.
Note:
The default password is pass. If you lose the Server password, you will need to restore the
factory default settings. See “Restoring Factory Default Settings ” on page 41.
