Installing the StorPoint CD

Web Browser - Windows 95/98 & NT
1. Start your Web browser.
2. In the location/address field, enter the following:
Syntax Class B network
where
<xxxxxx> are the last six digits of the StorPoint CD serial number and <ccc_ddd> are
the last two groups of the desired IP address.
Syntax Class C network
where
<xxxxxx> are the last six digits of the StorPoint CD serial number and <ddd> is the last
group of the desired IP address.
Example
On a class B network, your Windows client has the IP address
192.16.6.40. The serial num-
ber of your StorPoint CD is
00-40-8c-10-00-86 and you want to assign it the IP address
192.16.253.80. Start your Web browser and enter the following:
The StorPoint CD will retrieve the first two groups of the new IP address from the client that
issues the broadcast. When the IP address has been successfully set, the StorPoint CD File
View page will appear in your Web browser.
AXIS IP Installer - Windows 95/98 & NT, NetWare
The AXIS Installer is an application that allows you to
assign IP addresses to your StorPoint CD, find IP addresses
of already installed StorPoint CDs and access the StorPoint
CD Web interface by launching a Web browser.
Installing the AXIS IP Installer
The required utility software is available on the AXIS
Online CD. It can also be downloaded from the Axis Web
Site at http://www.axis.com.
Follow these steps:
1. Locate the setup file,
Setup.exe, and choose the Run option from the Windows Start menu.
