Restoring Factory Default Settings
You can restore the factory default settings to the AXIS StorPoint CD
if required, e.g. if you have disabled all network protocols. You can use
any of these methods:
• FTP on a TCP/IP network
• Using the Push button
• Editing the configuration file
Step by step instructions for each method are given below.
Caution

The node address, the
HardwareAddress
parameter, will remain
unchanged, but all other parameters will be restored.
Using FTP
To restore the default settings using FTP, follow these steps:
1.
Log in to the StorPoint CD with the command:
ftp <host name>
where
<host name>
is the name assigned in your system host
table.
2.
You will be prompted for user id and password. Use the user id
root
,
which has the default password
pass
(
root
is the user id with the
highest priority).
3.
Restore the default setting with the command:
get defaults
The unit will then automatically restart.
4.
Log out using any of the commands
quit
,
bye
or
exit
depending
on your FTP version.
