Stage 2: SNA Server - AXIS 570/670 connection
1. Select the new LUA and drag it to the TN3270 connection definition (highlighted in the SNA
Server Manager Window above).
2. Select the properties of the LUA.
3. Click on the TN3270 tab in the properties popup window.
4. Select Generic Printer Type.
5. Click on the IP Address List tab.
6. Specify the IP Address of the client(s) that you want to assign to this LU. This is the IP address
of the AXIS 570/670, i.e. the same as the INT_ADDR parameter in the Print Server.
7. Click OK.
Verifying the Communication
Follow the instructions below to verify communication from the AXIS 570/670 to the Mainframe
host via the SNA Server:
1. Activate the connection you created in step 2 of the above SNA Server - AXIS 570/670
connection procedures. The status of the connection should be “active”.
2. Make sure the corresponding LU in the host is activated.
3. Activate the TN3270 connection to the AXIS 570/670. The LUA should change status to
SSCP.
4. Send a print job from the host.
The AXIS 570/670 is now ready for use.
Note:
You can check the status of the TN3270E connection by printing a test page from the print server. This is done by
pressing the test button once. Make sure the TN3270E status (St:) line for your server connection is defines as
either:
- SSCP
- LU-1
- LU-3
