AXIS’ CORRIDOR FORMAT
Axis’ Corridor Format provides a vertically-oriented,
“portrait”-shaped video stream ideal for monitoring
areas that are more vertical than horizontal in shape,
such as staircases, hallways, aisles, roads, runways,
tunnels, and similar spaces.
In these situations, the traditional landscape format is
not optimal since a large part of the eld of view –
specically the edges of the image – is redundant.
Consequently, the image quality is not maximized be-
cause the full area and resolution of the camera’s image
sensor is not utilized. And on top of providing surplus
images from areas that do not require monitoring, band-
width and storage is also wasted.
By adapting perfectly to the monitored area, Axis’
Corridor Format can maximize image quality while
eliminating bandwidth and storage waste. The result-
ing image will have a 9:16 aspect ratio, which makes it
a perfect match with modern HDTV network cameras
that deliver a 16:9 aspect ratio.
