Picture Frequency for Modem Applications
The speed of your modem link is a dominant factor in determining the frequency at which
images are displayed in your browser, and an average-sized image is normally transmitted
in 2-4 seconds. For alarm applications, where picture updating is critical, images are
buffered into internal memory prior to being uploaded to your ISP or Web server. This
means that a slow connection will not prevent your images being correctly saved and
transmitted.
Proprietary ISP Dial-up Protocols
If you need to install any special software before initiating a dial-up connection, it is likely
that your ISP is using proprietary protocols incompatible with the standard-based AXIS
2420. In these circumstances, we recommend that you ask your ISP for an alternative
dial-up service that allows for standard dial-up networking. Axis does not
guarantee the
compatibility of this product with any ISPs requiring the use of proprietary or
non-standard software as a pre-requisite for dial-up connections.
