Snapshot Types
You can adjust the size and appearance of your AXIS 240 snapshots,
ranging from small, highly compressed to large, high-quality images.
The file sizes depend on several factors. Low compression and large
images result in larger files, but the images will be of better quality.
Images with a lot of details will also generate larger files. As always on
the web, the price for size and quality is time!
These snapshot types are available within the AXIS 240:

The standard resolution. Hardware
generated in 0.5 seconds.
halfsize.jpg

Excellent for thumbnails.
Hardware generated in 0.3
seconds.
lastshot.jpg
352 x 288

320 x 240

160 x 112
The last snapshot taken from any
camera, either as ‘fullsize’ or
‘halfsize’ snapshot. Primarily
intended for software applications
for archiving a buffered image.
hugesize.jpg 704 x 576 640 x 480
The highest resolution snapshot
available. As opposed to the
‘fullsize’ and ‘halfsize’ images, the
‘hugesize’ image is software
generated which takes about 18
seconds.
zoom.jpg 352 x 288 320 x 240
A cutout from the center of
’hugesize’. It takes about 8
seconds to generate.
