Sengs
Backlight: Choose between 5 dierent backlight modes by pressing the UP and DOWN
buons.
Alert: Choose between 4 dierent signals for the alert siren by pressing the UP and
DOWN buons.
Radio
The ALERT FM Receiver will automacally tune to the best available staon. It is
however possible to force it to rescan the FM band in order to make a new complete
search for the best signal.
Scan for staons: A scan is iniated by entering the menu, navigate to “Radio”, and
press MIDDLE buon. The lower right corner of the display will show “scan”, press
FRONT buon to start the scan.
When scanning, the receiver will search for FM staons and check them for an ALERT
FM signal. This may take a few minutes.
Device Info
Select Device info in the menu to access version, producon and serial numbers.
Maintenance
The ALERT FM Receiver is a highly advanced product and should be treated with the greatest care. If you
follow the recommendaons below, you will fulll requirements for the warranty and the receiver should
provide several years of useful service.
• Keep the receiver away from small children.
• Protect it from moisture. Fluids and moisture may contain substances that can corrode the receiver’s
electronics.
• Avoid use in dusty and unclean environments.
• Don’t store in hot places. High temperatures can shorten the lifeme of electronics devices.
• Don’t store in cold places. When the receiver is warmed up to its normal temperature, there may be
moisture inside the receiver that could damage the electronics. At temperatures below -10
o
C (-14
o
F), the
receiver should be carried within your clothing to keep the LCD funconing.
• Don’t try to open the receiver. Unauthorized tampering with the receiver can damage it. Call ALERT FM
Customer Service if your receiver needs to be repaired.
• Don’t drop or shake the receiver. If handled roughly, the electronics could be damaged.
• Don’t try to connect the receiver to incompable devices Incompable devices may damage the
electronics.
• Don’t use strong chemicals or detergents to clean the receiver. Instead use a so moist cloth.
Using the Baery
• The baery should only be used for the purpose intended.
• Never use a damaged or worn-out baery.
• Don’t short-circuit the baery. Short-circuing the baery may damage it.
• Always store the baery in a temperature range of 15
o
C to 25
o
C (59
o
F to 77
o
F).
• Never throw baeries into open re. Dispose of them in an environmentally correct manner.
Limitaon of Liability
Customer acknowledges that messages may be lost, incorrect, garbled or not received by the intended
recipient due to circumstances that are beyond the control of GSS. Customer acknowledges that GSS has no
liability at law or in equity for the failure of a message to reach its intended recipient. Customer acknowledges
and agrees that, in the absence of willful misconduct by GSS, that GSS and its representaves shall not be
responsible for any incidental, special, consequenal, punive or other damages including lost prots arising
out of any messaging disrupon, interrupon, mistakes, omissions, delays, errors or defects in the service or
transmission of messages.
Limited Warranty and Exclusions
GSS LLC provides a limited consumer hardware warranty to the original registered (non-commercial) consumer
(the ”Customer”) of ALERT FM products who registers the Product with the Company within ninety (90) days
of purchase. This warranty is non-transferable and does not apply to any product used in any manner other
than under normal intended customer use by an individual consumer.
Hardware
Subject to the exclusions, limitaons and condions stated, GSS LLC warrants that all units are free of defects
in material and workmanship, under normal intended consumer (non-commercial) use, for a period of ninety
(90) days from the original purchase date. GSS addionally warrants to the Customer that all ALERT FM
hardware, accessories and components purchased from GSS, including but not limited to the Cables, Power
Cords, and Baeries, will be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal customer use, for
a period of ninety (90) days from the original purchase date.

Places
The receiver can receive alerts based on geographical locaon. Up to 5 “places” can be
added with associated ZIP-code and/or geographical posion (longitude and latude).
Add a place:
1. Enter menu and navigate to “Places”, press MIDDLE buon. Select
“Add new” and press MIDDLE buon.
2. Set the name by changing the characters with UP and DOWN buons
and preceding to the next character by pressing MIDDLE buon
(FRONT buon will go back to previous character).
3. When done with the name of the place press MIDDLE buon unl
asked to enter ZIP-code.
4. Enter ZIP-code by changing the digits with UP and DOWN buons,
and proceeding to the next digit by pressing MIDDLE buon. When
all digits have been entered, the place is added.
To set a geographical locaon of a place:
1. Navigate to the place that shall have a geo locaon and press MIDD-
LE buon.
2. Navigate to “Change posion” and press MIDDLE buon.
3. Alter the geographical posion by pressing UP and DOWN buons
and proceeding to the next digit by pressing MIDDLE buon (FRONT
buon will go back to previous digit).
Longitude and latude coordinates can be found e.g. by clicking in Google
maps.
