4.4 Attach Cabling
Supply Power to the
OMU
The power feed to the OMU is attached via plinths found on the inside of the back
cover.

Each OMU unit can be equipped with one or two power supplies. Either two of
the same type or two of different voltage.
There are power supplies for 115 - 230VAC 50/60 Hz and 24 - 48VDC. .
Note! Be careful to get the polarity right.
Each Power Supply can be switched off using the switches on the front panel.
Caution!
Even if the power supplies are switched off the OMU still has live
power from the power input on the back.
Connect the OMU to
the BTS or to the
repeater.
The connector for the uplink and the downlink connector are N-type and placed on
the back panel of the OMU.
Attach the coupler The OMU is connected to the BTS or the repeater via a directional coupler.

The coupler is connected in series with the BTS antenna or the repeater’s server
antenna. J1 and J2 are connected in-between the unit and the antenna. It makes no
difference which side is connected to which.
J3 or J4 is connected to the OMU unit. If J1 is connected to the donor unit (BTS or
repeater) J3 is to be connected to the OMU. If J2 is connected to the donor unit; J4
is to be connected to the OMU.
Caution
The connector not used (J3 or J4) must be capped to prevent
ingression of dust and water.
